Australian International Design Awards, a division of Standards Australia Limited, is recognised by the Commonwealth Government and the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design [ICSID] as the peak promotional body for the Australian design industry, and for its important role in fostering a broad based culture of design and innovation in Australia. It is Australia's only national awards program for product design and encourages students of design and emerging young talent through its tertiary and secondary student recognition schemes, in partnership with like-minded organisations such as Dyson and the Board of Studies.

In keeping with Standards Australia's peak status as the national standards body, the Australian International Design Awards sets benchmarks of quality and excellence in design through a sophisticated application and assessment process. Products represented in the program cover a wide variety of industry sectors including consumer, business and technology, medical and scientific, automotive and transport, sport and leisure, housing and building, heavy machinery, architectural and interior products, and student design.
